About Veronica Diaz

Veronica Diaz, Web Designer, working on client's website

Becoming a mom added extra stress to her life and the anxieties of work and family-life balance became more intense. After having her second child during the pandemic she walked away from the corporate work world.

While being blessed to stay home with my family her happiness levels became to decrease. After some internal work she began to realize that she was running her household like a project, treating her family as if they were computer applications—expecting perfection and zero room for error.

She ran into self-compassion through a kind friend and fellow yoga teacher and took the Live Online Mindful Self-Compassion course from the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. Learning to treat herself, and in turn her family, with more kindness, understanding, and acceptance has helped her to let go of impossible standards she held for herself and her loved ones.

She became an instructor in the Mindfulness and Self-Compassion for Children and Caregivers Program, created by Jamie Lynn Tatera, which is an adaptation of the adult program put together by Kristin Neff, Ph.D, and Chris Germer Ph.D. She teaches this program in both english and spanish.

But Veronica’s love for web design started during the COVID pandemic. She started a online business teaching prenatal yoga and she build her website from scratch. Then she began designing for her friends and acquaintances. A year later she discovered how much she loved helping people figure out how to share their gifts with the world. What began as a necessity became her passion: being the supportive guide she wished she had when she was staring at that blank webpage, wondering how to put herself out there!

Veronica believes in simplicity, finds joy in nature's quiet moments, and enjoys authentic heartfelt connections. She practices yoga and mindfulness, and loves cooking and trying out new dishes in the kitchen.

She lives in Mobile, AL, with her husband, Ken, and their two daughters, Sofi and Olivia.

Veronica’s tech journey started when there was no such thing as a web browser!

She holds a degree from the University of South Alabama in Computer Science. Veronica started her corporate career as a system administrator/programmer, and worked her way up to Director of Software Engineering.

Veronica pursued a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification followed by an Agile Certification. With iterative development, strong collaboration, and adapting to change, her teams were able to deliver value and quality work in short cycles.

To manage the stress of work life she became a certified yoga instructor in 2015, which introduced her to the practice of mindfulness in the Plum Village Tradition and the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
